Aircasts and Legends...

And Lo! A post!

It's been a minute since I put my thoughts and observations out there for the rest of the world to see.

So it's June, May went by with nary a blog post, and I feel bad about that, not because I feel like I'm letting anyone down or anything...just that, for a solid month I couldn't come up with anything interesting to talk about.

Lets see, what's been going on...

I damn near broke my ankle at my friend Jessie's house. As I tried to maneuver the simple task of stepping off the porch, I underestimated how low the first step was. When my foot did not make contact when I suspected it should, my body went into panicMode! Thus causing me to turn my ankle, and then make contact with said step. Resulting in a tumble that was most unexpected. Thankfully, no one was around to see this stunt, and no beer was spilled. I kept ice on my now puffy and double-sized ankle the rest of the evening, and thought 'No big deal'. The next morning...it was a big deal, as I could not put any weight on the ankle without sending pain through my entire foot. I decided to ignore everyone's suggestions of going to Immediate Care, and threw a borrowed aircast around my battered hoof and hobbled around for a few days. The aircast, or as I preferred to call it "Iron Man Boot", helped greatly. Every once in a while I step on it wrong and there's some pain, but for the most part, I'm back in original condition...

I've turned into a Call of Duty geek. I'm re-playing Modern Warfare on ultra-hardcore-death-mode, I can't get enough of that game, and now that the PS3 is hooked up to the internets, Online Play has been in full-swing, despite the fact that I'm a total noob and my kills to death ratio is about 1 in 5. It'll get better, just gotta put in my time...

I've seen a lot of really good movies lately...
Star Trek - excellent
Wolverine - good
I Love You Man - excellent
Up - very good

Along with recently becoming a CofD geek, I'm also completely absorbed in all things LOST. The show is amazing. I burned through Blockbusters supply of seasons 1-4 in about 2 months, and am now waiting (painfully) until Season 5 is released on DVD some time in December...this will not do...there must be another way...Arrrg

Musically I've been trying a lot of new things out...I'm really getting into a lot of older stuff, such as Bob Dylan, Sonic Youth, Frank Black, Pixies, Tom Waits. Thank you Adam Bowen for working at LOFT long enough to upload his entire iTunes library onto our server. Seriously, the dude started work on a Monday, and left on Friday, while everyone else was at lunch...all he left was an empty chair and a voicemail explaining that he took a new job in Ohio...and a Legend was Born.

Well...I feel like this has been a good start to get back into the swing of things...we'll see if I can keep it up.

until next time...
